Description
This Easy Glazed Ham recipe delivers a moist, flavorful centerpiece with a beautiful, glossy glaze. Perfect for holidays, it’s a simple yet impressive dish that will delight your guests.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 fully cooked ham (bone-in or boneless, about 8–10 pounds)
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
- 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 325Β°F (160Β°C).
- Remove the ham from its packaging and place it in a large roasting pan. If your ham has a skin, score it in a diamond pattern, being careful not to cut too deep into the meat.
- In a medium saucepan, combine the brown sugar, honey, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, ground cloves, and ground cinnamon.
- Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the brown sugar is dissolved and the glaze is smooth.
- Simmer for about 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
- Brush about half of the glaze evenly over the ham, making sure to get into the scored areas.
- Cover the ham with foil and bake for about 1 to 1.5 hours, depending on the size of your ham.
- Remove the foil and brush the remaining glaze over the ham.
- Increase the oven temperature to 400Β°F (200Β°C) and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the glaze is bubbly and caramelized.
Notes
- Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature of the ham. It should reach 140Β°F (60Β°C).
- If the glaze starts to darken too quickly, reduce the oven temperature or loosely cover the ham with foil.
- Let the ham rest for at least 10-15 minutes before slicing to allow the juices to redistribute.
